~First of all, WOW. This location was exactly what we were looking for~
Wompoo retreat is a special place. With its beautiful views of the Daintree mountains and surrounding lush greenery, we found it instantly relaxing. Our hosts were helpful, friendly and generous people. The lack of mobile connection adds to the relaxation. (WiFi available but why not disconnect for a while). Delicious fresh fruit/muesli supplied for breakfast, and wonderful teas, coffee and organic milk....huge comfortable bed, fully screened sleeping room, hand made soap provided, we could not improve on our experience based in the Daintree.....actually we could, next time we'll hopefully see a wompoo dove...the bird watching (complimentary binoculars and bird book supplied) was an added treat at breakfast on our private deck. We loved this place.

This is easily one of the best AirBnB's we've stayed at. The space is simple, clean, and comfortable, constructed with ecological awareness. The outdoor kitchen and locally sourced amenities (fruit, milk, coffee, honey, etc.) really gave us a sense of being integrated into and literally tasting the bounty of the Daintree. Also, the view! It was so peaceful and inspiring to gaze upon the forested mountains while listening to the birds and other wildlife. Our hosts were very gracious, easy to communicate with, and full of local tips regarding beaches, swimming holes, hikes and other adventures in the area. You can tear up that touristy guidebook you picked up at the airport and pick Peter's brain instead about a quiet place to swim (far from crocodiles) and take in the life of the rainforest.

We had a very lovely stay at Wompoo bungalow. The bungalow is very comfortable and earthy with a combination of open views across a valley and privacy. A lot of thought has gone into the design. The hosts Peter and Jill were friendly and welcoming and made wonderful touches including flowers, a great selection of teas and their own deliciously scented handmade soap. The rolling clouds across the valley and variety of birds that visit are unforgettable. A fantastic place to stay for doing day walks in the Daintree and some serenity.

“We could not have wished for a more perfect stay in the Daintree! The setting is spectacular, the bungalow had everything we needed & Peter & Jill were fantastic hosts. We miss the view! Just amazing. We loved the outdoor kitchen & the bathroom is one we certainly won't forget! The breakfast supplies were great & the fresh home grown fruits were delicious! I really can't say enough good things about our stay, everything was perfect. Oh & Jill's soap is wonderful! We would go back in a heartbeat.”
